Control page guide
The following guide is intended to train the user in the use of the control page to use all the tools available and improve their sessions.
Session initiation:
Upon logging in, a pop-up window will appear with several fields to fill in. This window will be part of the final report that you will obtain at the end of the session.
- Patient:
It allows you to select which patient you have registered is going to start the session. The resulting report will be associated with the patient and can be accessed from the Patients section itself.
- Session title:
Here you can add a meaningful title to identify the session. Remember that when you want to review the Reports section, this field will be the main means of identifying each of the reports.
- Description:
You can fill in this field with the purpose of the session, this data will be marked in the report.
Structure of the control page:
Once we have closed the login pop-up window, we will have the following elements available:
- 1 – Viewer:
Provides information about what the patient is viewing on the device. & nbsp; In case of activating the high-quality viewer in the user configuration, we will have a reproduction of the environment equal to that seen by the patient, contact an audio control to set the audio volume * for ourselves.
* Device audio is not affected and must be set on the same device.
- 2 – Main action buttons:
These buttons will allow us to carry out the main actions within from any scene:
- Restart:
As its name indicates, it allows you to restart the scene that is currently playing, this allows us, for example, to increase the exposure level by modifying the configuration variables.
- Play/Pause:
Allows you to start and pause the playback of the scene during the session.
- Center view:
This button will need to be used if the patient is not in a comfortable position * for scene playback. When interacting, a transition will be made to black and back to the environment to accommodate the view, showing the focus of attention to the patient.
* Before clicking on “Center View”, tell your patient to look straight ahead in a comfortable position.
- 3 – Elements of interaction with the device:
These buttons will allow us to communicate with the patient directly on the device, allowing us to maintain the immersion within the scene at the same time that we communicate with the patient about the exposure that is found in the reproduction of the environment.
- Send messages to the device:
It allows us to write a message and send it to the patient’s device, this action will be reflected in the timeline found on the control page and you can view it later in the session report.
- Asking for subjective anxiety:
It allows us to send a subjective anxiety question to the device, this question has as options a scale of 1 to 10, the latter being the highest anxiety level.
This action will be reflected in the timeline found on the control page and you can view it later in the session report.
- 4 – Configuration variables:
This part of the control page contains the environment variables to be reproduced in the session, the configuration variables determine which elements will be present in the scene, regulating the exposure the patient faces. These variables are set before the scene is played, being locked after clicking the Play button.
Not all environments will have configuration variables, the presence or absence of configuration variables, as well as their use will be explained in the environment user manual.
- 5 – Event variables:
The events section contains the variables that interact with the scene during the playback time, at the same time the events are divided into 3 tabs:
- Events tab:
It contains a list of events typical of the environment that we are reproducing, it may be the case that there are environments that do not need to resort to their own events. You will find this information in the environment user manual.
- Relax tab:
Contains the relax sound event, which allows you to play an audio help to decrease the patient’s activation during the scene playback.
- Interoceptive tab:
It contains a series of variables that allow us to increase the immersion of the patient by being able to reproduce a sound of breathing and heart rate, at the same time that we can change both the breathing rate and the speed of the heart rate.
- 6 – Environment use manual:
It gives us information about the environment we have chosen during the session, it includes:
- Sample video:
Allows a preview of the environment.
- Description:
It provides us with both descriptive and clinical information about the environment.
- Configuration variables:
A list of variables that affect the elements that will appear, as well as the level of exposure that will be present in the environment.
- Event variables:
A list of variables that allow you to advance in the reproduction of the environment, going from one point to another, as well as activating or deactivating specific events that can increase or decrease the exposure.
- 7 – Comment button:
This element of the control page allows us to add a comment directly on the timeline, as an annotation for our report after finishing the session.
- 8 – Timeline:
It will be part of the report that we view at the end of the session. It contains information about everything that happened during the reproduction of the scene as well as the information that we have pointed out ourselves through the previous point.
The information of the timeline will be found fragmented in:
- Type of event:
If the information comes from the reproduction of the environment, from launching an environment, from asking a subjective anxiety question, etc.
- Electrodermal responde sensor:
It provides us with information about the essence value at the time of receiving the type of event.
- Time:
Moment during the session that the information has been received.
This information can be filtered by different variables for view the content as appropriate.
Scene change and session end:
When starting a session we will have two buttons in the upper left area of the web platform.
- Next scene:
It allows to reproduce another scene during the session, in case we want to expose the patient to an environment of exposure and then to one of relaxation to reduce it and compare their behavior.
- End session:
As its name indicates, it ends the current session and shows us the report generated throughout the entire session with the information collected in the timeline of the control page.
